- Straight out of heavy sphagnum near R. crassotunicata, skunk cabbage, and salal.
- Fruiting Body
Mostly unbranched, but some moderately-branched, generally in upper 1/2.
- Fertile Surface
Top 1/4 wider and flatter; lighter whitish-gray with vinaceous tints; kind of like a moldy coating; shaped a bit like mittened hands, with multiple sharp tips. The tips pyramidal spears; dark chestnut red-brown.
- Micro
Spores: spherical, 8.9-10.4 µm diameter; filled with yolky-looking droplets Hyphae: mostly thin-walled and sausage shaped; a few of less total diameter and thicker-walled (.5µm thick max); Clamps rare to absent Basidia: 2-spored; shaped like devil horns; secondary septation visible; filled with small oily-looking droplets
