Growing on the cut face of a hemlock log (TSHE).
- Fruiting Body
Effused-reflexed - mostly resupinate, but w/ a small overhanging ledge. Parchment-like, thin (<0.5 mm).
20 mm long x 12 mm tall; shelf 3 mm.
Dark layer between sterile and fertile surfaces appears as a black line in cross-section.
- Fertile Surface
Appears banded. Vinaceous, smooth, with a white outer opaque sheen. Edge whiter to pink. Most outer edge concolorous with the light parts of the sterile surface.
No staining.
- Sterile Surface
Zonate. Mostly creamy gray-white, but with bands of chocolate brown showing through from below. Adpressed tomentose.

Spores: elliptical; 7-10 µm x 3 µm
Cystidia: 5-18 microns past hymenium
- Comments
Look for the dark band central band in cross-section and the purple vinaceous coloration of the fertile surface.
